Just made these and they're good! I added vanilla extract and used light brown sugar instead of white and i loved it! Only i would cut the baking powder down to 1and1/2 teaspoons because the alkalizing taste lingers afterwards in the recipe proportions. I topped them with my own homemade blueberry syrup! Yum!!!

I only use 3.5 tsp of baking powder. Mine uses only 3. Also, I grease the griddle with bacon grease since I always serve bacon with my pancakes...yeppers, fat old "lard" works without butning and tastes great and we are all still alive. And every time my now grown sons come over and have these, they marvel that I have not sold this recipe to Ihop. I just laugh. It was my mother's recipe and she probably got it from her mother. I grew up with it, so, it's obviously not a secret.

Good basic recipe. I added almond and vanilla flavoring and used buttermilk.
